Advertising Committee

The Marketing and Advertising committees are responsible for the chapter’s internal and external advertising, publicity, and corporate sponsorships. Leading these efforts are the Marketing and Advertising Director, Publicity Chair, Advertising Chair, and Marketing Chair. Together, this group is responsible for development of special brochures and publications, publicizing events, chapter news, expansion of member markets, and issuance of external press releases. Through sales, these committees generate non-dues revenue by developing leads and coordinating placement of advertisements in a variety of communication pieces.

Applied Research Committee

For those members interested in keeping abreast of the latest research that defines human resource development. 

Awards & Recognition Committee

A newly formed group, this committee develops, implements, and maintains a program that recognizes members as well as organizations in the community who have established themselves as leaders in promoting excellence in human resource development.  See more about the Best Practices Award

Community Outreach Committee

Members who want an opportunity to use HRD skills and knowledge to help our community can help this group plan and engage member interest in community service projects.

Conference Committee

This committee organizes periodically to design, plan, and execute all aspects of a one- or two-day regional conference.  It works closely with Marketing and Advertising and provides an excellent opportunity to utilize project management skills.

Directory Committee

This group meets once a year to develop and distribute the Membership Directory.

Finance Committee 

This small committee follows the money, having budget and financial reporting duties.

Membership Committee

Member Recruitment is involved in developing membership by looking outward of the association while Member Retention develops membership by focusing on current members.  
Newsletter Committee This committee brings information to the membership via the monthly newsletter.

Position Referral Committee 

Members who want to be in contact with organizations with HRD positions available should join this committee.

Programs/Seminars Committee

Professional development is the keyword for this group.  They select topics and get speakers for the monthly chapter meetings as well as half or whole day seminars. 
SIG Committee This committee meets quarterly to develop and review SIG committee processes and ensure appropriate SIG groups are formalized to member needs.

Volunteer Development Committee 

This committee maintains the volunteer recruitment and development process and ensures that all members who have an interest in being active in the chapter are given an opportunity to participate in activities.

Web Site Committee

Members ensure the KC-ASTD web site is efficiently and effectively meeting the needs of the organization and its members.

Committee Descriptions


HRDI Curriculum Committee
 

  1. Develop consistent standards for content and format of all HRDI courses.
  2. Develop overall structure of core, intermediate and advanced courses and tracks, including processes for earning certificates and college credit.
  3. Develop facilitator guides and participant materials for core, intermediate and advanced courses.
  4. Serve as liaison with credit-granting organizations.
  5. Interview, place and evaluate facilitators for HRDI courses.

    Experience Preferred: 3 to 5 years of instructional design work.

HRDI Finance Committee

  1. Develop and monitor project budget.
  2. Develop competitive fee structure for HRDI courses.
  3. Identify and develop partnership/sponsorship opportunities with local businesses and organizations.
  4. Develop and implement registration process.
  5. Coordinate all financial processes and activities with chapter treasurer.

    Experience Preferred:  Budget management, registration systems and fund development. 

HRDI Facilities Committee

Develop criteria for optimum training facilities for HRDI courses.
 
HRDI Marketing/Sales Committee

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to market HRDI programs to internal and external audiences
  2. Develop marketing materials and tools, including logo, brochures, fliers, articles and face-to-face presentations.
  3. Conduct sales activities to assure maximum participation in HRDI events.
     

HRDI Program Facilitator 

Deliver seminars and workshops as assigned.

Experience Preferred: 3 – 5 years classroom delivery in subject matter.

HRDI Volunteer Development Committee

  1. Develop and implement volunteer development system, including processes for application, screening, appointment, support, and evaluation.
  2. Recruit and refer volunteers for HRDI committees and facilitators.
  3. Coordinate recruitment processes and activities with chapter activities.

    Experience Preferred:  Recruitment and placement.
